Soft Glam or Full Glam? A 5-Minute Cheat Sheet

This question lands in my inbox every week. Most women already know what looks good on them. What they're actually asking is which look fits where they're headed, so they don't turn up over- or under-done.

That's a fair question, and it usually comes down to one thing: the light in the room.

Soft glam: the daytime look

Think of a lunch meeting or Sunday brunch, sitting in natural window light. You want skin that looks luminous and even, clean brows, and an eye with a little depth but nothing loud.

Full glam: Saturday night out

The honest mistake

Book full glam for a daytime brunch and you'll feel overdone in your own face. Book soft glam for a night out and you're washed out by the second song. The look has to match the light and the energy of where you're going.
